Opera VS Microsoft

A few days ago Opera filed suit against Microsoft for bundling IE with its operating system, but more importantly, not following web standards (to see if your browser is following web standards, take a look at the Acid2 Test). I think this is a good step by Opera. The fact that IE7 is bundled by Microsoft in its OS is, to my mind, understandable. Apple bundles Safari too and that has never seemed to bother anyone. However, when a browser that has the biggest market share do not comply to web standards it is a great obstacle for millions of web developers. I hope this will force Microsoft, who has begun work on IE8, to put its focus on standards a lot more than it has in the past.
