Motorola Gets It
Ever since I heard about it, I was very enthusiastic about getting the new Motofone. For those of you who haven’t heard about it, it is a no-frills mobile designed for the 3rd world market. Today I finally bought it and I might be replacing my ultra thin Samsung SGH-X820 with it.

It only costs about 45 EUR so it definitely isn’t an expensive mobile. It does what it is supposed to do well, namely enabling you to make and receive calls, but that is about all it can do. Well, there is the alarm function and you can send an sms. The only thing I don’t like about it is the size of the characters when sms’ing, they are HUGE. You can only fit in one word. But hey, this is a 45 EUR mobile. I am not sure whether I will be replacing my Samsung with it, but is sure is a handy mobile to have, for those nights you go out or when you need 2 weeks of battery power. Yes, you read right, apparently you can go two weeks without needing to recharge.
Overall the news of the Motofone was received well online. This is a clear indication that people are getting sick of hundreds of features being crammed into devices, most of which never end up getting used anyway.
